Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude at all times.

· Utilize payroll/HR software to ensure that employee data is accurate in the system. May involve data entry and other administrative duties.

· Be the point-of-contact for employees who have questions regarding their compensation or benefits. Conducts benefits enrollment for new enrollees. Ensures new employees have a thorough understanding of the benefits available to Maintainer employees.

· Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and Maintainer I-9 files.

· Reconciles benefits statements.

· Process various paperwork, including disability, FMLA absences, employee life status changes, etc.

· Works with Occupational Health Nursing (OHN) to schedule employee physicals, drug screens, and other post-offer, pre-employment items as needed.

· Assist with open enrollments and ensure the accuracy of all benefit’s enrollments.

· Conducts employee training, development, and orientation programs as needed. Collects data, makes observations, and recommends improvements to existing programs where necessary.

· Provide legal and regulatory expertise as it pertains to annual filings (EEO, VETS, ADA, AAP).

· Remain current on human resources trends and practices. Develop implementation plans for value-creating ideas.

· Partners with internal and external local organizations and external contacts (community colleges, vendors, etc.) on efforts related to recruitment, employee development, and training efforts.

· Works with the safety department and completes safety-related tasks as assigned.

· Assists in coordinating company events (All Staff meetings, food truck frenzy, end of year parties, birthdays, celebrations, etc.).

· Performs other duties as requested by management.

Qualification Requirements:

Education, Reasoning ability, and or Experience:

· Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Associate degree in human resources management or related field is preferred, but not required. One to three years’ previous HR experience in a manufacturing setting also preferred, but not required.

Communication and Language skills:

Must possess strong communication skills. Demonstrates a warm personality that connects well with others in one-on-one and in group situations. Must be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of employees from entry level to upper management. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to noise, fumes and or airborne particulate if in the manufacturing environment.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Possesses strong computer and keyboarding skills. Familiar with all Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Prior experience with Microsoft Publisher is preferred. Possesses strong customer services skills. Displays a positive attitude and friendly personality towards internal and external customers. Must possess strong verbal communication skills.

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
